Minimonos Monkey Fact Monday: Monkey Habitats

Hey everymonkey!

I have an awesome Monday Fact Monday post for you guys! It's all about monkey habitats


Rainforest_at_Puentes_Colgantes As you probably know, monkeys really love being near trees, or in trees! Most monkey's, spend their time in trees, swinging from tree branch to tree branch or looking for food up in the trees! They especially love tropical rainforests, although some kinds of monkeys do live on plains or grasslands.  New World monkeys really like rainforests, while Old World monkeys can be found in different kinds of forests, or up in mountains.

Regardless of where they live, monkeys play an important role in the ecology of their habitat! They help spread seeds when they eat fruit, because the seeds go undigested and come back out in the form of...well, you should go play TicTacPoo and find out!

There is one rainforest that New World monkey especially love. Can you guess which one????? YES! You're right - the Amazon Rainforest! It is a perfect place for monkeys because of the tropical temperatures and different types of trees!
